From Vejer to Fez

Twice a year we make a trip down to Fez to stock up on some Califa essentials that we just can’t get locally here in Vejer.

From exotic spices & hard to find table mats to tagines, menu covers, lamps, bread baskets, tea pots, silver trays and so much more. Last week I made the trip with two gastro lovers and inveterate travellers Annie Manson of Vejer’s wonderful ‘Annie B’s Cooking School’ and Vejer resident Chelsea Anthon Managing Director of Califa Events and ‘Esoes’ Digital Marketing. Having these two along is guaranteed fun and foodie madness. Along the way we had a fabulous traditional family lunch with Mounia Essaadi (ex-Califa employee) in Soukh-el-Arba and in Fez we had dinner with Robert Johnstone at his thoroughly recommendable ‘The Ruined Garden’ and  enjoyed a spectacular meal at No.7 with Hector Bracchigilone. We stayed at the Riad Idrissy also owned by Robert Johnstone. Great!
