A magical winter in Vejer

  • The winter months are perfect for enjoying the town in a quieter and charming way

Enjoy a Moroccan tea in the Tetería del Califa, delight in the winter landscape that can be admired from its rooftop, let yourself be carried away by one of the delicious suggestions of Khadija Essaadi, executive chef and manager of El Jardín del Califa, in addition to the succulent dishes offered by the varied winter menu with the best local seasonal products.

A 2019 of great news was left behind such as the inauguration of Plaza 18, the first luxury hotel in Vejer, whose opening has been mentioned in important foreign media such as The Times, BBC Good Food or Daily Telegraph, among others. The hotel is the result of a collaboration between Vejer's main hotel, 'La Casa del Califa' and the renowned and award-winning designer and interior architect Nicky Dobree.

Another milestone in the year 2019 was knowing that our restaurant El Jardín del Califa is once again included in the Michelin Guide as a recommended establishment for 2020.

At the end of the year we received another great piece of news: El Jardín del Califa, Corredera 55, Califa Tapas, Plaza 18 Vejer and La Casa del Califa are part of the campaign of the prestigious travel guide Lonely Planet Best in Travel 2020

2020, a year of important news for Califa Vejer

The new year begins with a wonderful promotion in our hotels that continues to be available until the end of March 2020. 2020 will be a very special year for Vejer which will see the opening of its first Hammam next spring. After hundreds of years of absence, Califa Vejer will bring the tradition of the Hammam back to Vejer, adding another great experience to the Califa's wide range of services.

The Hammam will be open to the public, as well as the Califa's guests and neighbouring hotels, and will be located between the Alcazaba (Vejer's Moorish castle) and what was once the mosque (now Vejer's main church).
